ABOUT THE ARTIST

MARIANNE DICAIRE is a contemporary painter based in Gatineau, Québec, whose biomorphic work explores the fluid boundary between abstraction and figuration. Originally from rural Ontario, her deep connection to the forest—its textures, shadows, and subtle rhythms—continues to shape a rich and imaginative visual language.
Her paintings unfold as vibrant, dreamlike ecosystems where distorted characters, organic shapes, and fluid gestures coexist. Rooted in a background that spans visual arts, psychology, and graphic design, and informed by transformative travels across
Europe, Dicaire fuses analytical thought with emotional intuition.
“My art emerges from a blend of dreams, intuition, and both
aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems,” she explains. “I’m inspired by
mushrooms, algae, coral, tides—organic forms that evolve into layered, colourful compositions set against abstract backdrops.”
Through her work, Dicaire invites viewers into an immersive world of movement and contrast, where perception—both psychological and intuitive—is constantly shifting. Each canvas becomes a
sensory experience, offering new interpretations with
every encounter.
